After retiring as a player, including stints at the Crusaders (45 apps), Chiefs (5), Bayonne (43), and Wasps (17) Ross transitioned into coaching.
Known for his forward expertise his coaching roles include assistant coach Coca-Cola Red Sparks (Japan League 1) and Waikato Rugby (NPC). PlusWaikato (NPC) head coach and Chiefs (Super Rugby) forwards coach.
Ross is also current Māori All Blacks head coach. – Appointed in 2024 to lead the representative side on international fixtures.
