Victor Matfield is a Springbok (127 apps) great and one of the most influential locks in rugby history, whose tactical mastery of the line-out, leadership and sustained excellence helped define South African rugby through the 2000s and 2010s.
Victor was a key figure in the 2007 Rugby World Cup–winning Springbok squad and was named Man of the Match in the final against England.
He played for the Blue Bulls in the Currie Cup and the Bulls in Super Rugby, helping them to multiple titles, including Super Rugby championships in 2007, 2009 and 2010.
Later in his career he also had spells with Toulon and Northampton Saints before retiring from professional rugby.
